Beverage brand 7UP on Tuesday announced the appointment of Bangladeshi cricketer Shakib Al Hasan as its brand ambassador.

Under this appointment, the Bangladeshi all-rounder will play a pivotal role in delivering 7UP's 'Bhabo Fresh' philosophy to consumers across the country, along with 7UP's witty, wriggly-haired mascot, Fido Dido, said a press release issued by the beverage brand.

Commenting on the announcement, Shakib Al Hasan said, "I am extremely excited to be 7UP's new brand ambassador as it is an association that comes as a natural fit to me. The brand's 'Bhabo Fresh' philosophy is one that I strongly believe in."

"In fact, I always try to be optimistic and think of out-of-the-box solutions when faced with googlies – whether on the pitch or in life."

"Moreover, I have grown up seeing 7UP brand mascot Fido and admire his effortless confidence. I can't wait to start this new journey with 7UP and Fido," added Shakib.

Speaking on the association Country Manager of PepsiCo Bangladesh Debasish Deb said, "7UP is one of the largest and most loved brands in Bangladesh and therefore it made perfect sense to have the most loved cricketer and youth icon, Shakib Al Hasan, to be our brand ambassador."

"With him and our brand mascot Fido, we look forward to bringing in quirky moments to entertain the people of Bangladesh and create impactful conversations," added Debashish

Director of Sales and Marketing at Transcom Beverages Ltd Deepinder Singh Tiwana said, "7UP is one of the most iconic brands in the country and our association with cricketer Shakib Al Hasan is another milestone to be celebrated. We look forward to bringing alive his association with the brand through multiple touchpoints throughout the year"
