Youth detained for vandalising Bangabandhu’s mural in Brahmanbaria

RAB on Monday held a youth for vandalising a mural of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman during a movement, carried out by Hefazat-e-Islam, protesting the visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Bangladesh.

The detainee was Arman Alif, 22, son of Sukur Mia, hail from Fulkandi village under Nasirnagar upazila in the district.

A team of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) detained the youth with firearms from the Bishoroad area, said RAB-14 Captain Lieutenant Colonel Abu Nayem Md Talat at a press conference in the Brahmanbaria press club.

They identified Arman after analysing video footage, he added.

RAB-14, Bhairab camp company commander Rafiuddind Md Zubier was also present during the press conference.
