The minister said the country needs golden people to build Bangabandhu’s golden Bengal

The country's youth are not only dreaming, but they are also creating leadership, said Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Minister Tajul Islam.

The minister said this while speaking as the chief guest at the Junior Chamber International (JCI) Chattogram Cosmopolitan's "Chain Handover Ceremony 2021" at Radisson Blu Chattogram Bay View on Friday night.

The minister said the country needs golden people to build Bangabandhu's golden Bengal.

"Attempts have been made to destroy the pillar of independence by assassinating Bangabandhu. Children have grown up reading distorted history. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has freed us from hunger and poverty,"

Special guest at the programme Chattogram City Corporation Mayor M Rezaul Karim Chowdhury said, "Chattogram is the gateway to Bangladesh. At one time Chattogram led the country in business. Let us hope that we can bring that back."

"Everyone has a responsibility to make Chattogram beautifully planned. I call upon the young businessmen to do their duty to build Chattogram. This city is yours and mine," he added.

President of JCI Bangladesh Niaz Morshed Elite was the keynote speaker at the programme.

He said, "The JCI has been able to showcase the products and services of many young entrepreneurs. Not just businessmen, but all young people need to be trained, motivated and given guidelines. The strength of the youth in the population of the country should not turn into a disaster."

In his welcome speech, Shahidul Mostafa Chowdhury Mizan, the outgoing president of JCI Chattogram Cosmopolitan, said, "We have been able to do a lot of work even during the Covid-19 pandemic. We gave masks and sanitisers to poor people. I would like to express my gratitude to all the companies and business organisations that have cooperated in discharging their responsibilities."

Mahmudunnabi, vice president of JCI, said, "The journey of JCI Chattogram Cosmopolitan was started to organise the business community. The organisation has already gifted many young business leaders."

Outgoing President of JCI Chattogram Cosmopolitan Shahidul Mostafa Chowdhury Mizan handed over the chain to its newly elected President Tipu Sultan Sikder.
