A writ petition was filed with the High Court on Sunday seeking its directives on banning student politics and ragging in all universities of the country.

Yunus Ali Akand, a lawyer of the Supreme Court, who filed the petition, said there was no legal base of doing student politics in any university.

"To let it continue is unconstitutional," he added.

Proper compensation to the family of Abrar Fahad and security of all university students were also sought in the petition.

A High Court bench led by Justice Moinul Islam Chowdhury may hear the petition this week, said the lawyer.
