Workmate kills youth in Bangshal

During primary interrogation, Babu confessed to police about his involvement in the killing

A youth was stabbed to death allegedly by his co-worker at a shoe factory at Bangshal in the capital on Tuesday morning.

The deceased was identified as Piyal, 20, who had been living in the area for the last five years.

Police arrested the suspected killer from Tikatuli area this afternoon.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of the Bangshal Police Station Shahin Fakir confirmed the matter to The Business Standard.

Police arrested Babu within seven hours using modern technology. It was a pre-planned murder, said the OC.

During primary interrogation, Babu confessed to police about his involvement in the killing.

Two youths were also involved with him in the murder, the OC said.

As Piyal hurled abusive words at Babu, he got angry and attacked Piyal with sharp weapons, said police quoting Babu.

The victim's father filed a murder case with the Bangshal Police Station.
