A construction worker today died reportedly after falling off a six-storey building at Bayezid Bostami area in the port city. 

The deceased was identified as Akkas Ali, 25, hailing from Sunamganj.

The incident occurred when Akkas slipped from the rooftop losing balance while working at the under construction building, said Alauddin Talukder, assitant sub-inspector of Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) police outpost.  

Locals and fellow workers took him to the hospital where doctors declared him dead, he added.
