Woman dies of dengue in Mymensingh

Seven patients have died of dengue in the Mymensingh Medical College Hospital so far

A housewife has died of dengue at the Mymensingh Medical College Hospital this morning.

The deceased, Fatema Khatun, 50, is the wife of one Nazmul Hoque hailing from Hossainpur upazila of Kishoreganj district.

Confirming the matter to The Business Standard, Assistant Director of the hospital Dr Samsuddin Selim said, "Fatema was going through treatment at the ward no. 11 of the hospital after she had been admitted to the hospital with dengue on September 3."

As her condition started to worsen, she was transferred to the ICU on September 7. 

She died at the ICU in the morning on September 10 (Tuesday), he added. 

Seven new patients got admitted to the Mymensingh Medical College Hospital with dengue in the past 24 hours until 8:0am on Tuesday. Currently, 59 patients infected with the mosquito-borne disease are being treated in the hospital. 

So far, 7 patients have died of dengue in the Mymensingh Medical College Hospital, Samsuddin Selim said.
