Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader today said Sir Fazle Hasan Abed's death had created an irreparable vacuum.

He said Sir Fazle Hasan was a philanthropist and a person with vision.

"The emptiness that has been formed by his death will not be filled up easily," said Quader while paying his tribute to Sir Fazle at the Bangladesh Army Stadium in the capital this morning.

Many non-governmental organisations have been working in the country but Sir Fazle worked for the grassroots people without drawing attention to himself, he said.

The Awami League general secretary said Sir Fazle not only worked in the country but also abroad.

"His contributions are invaluable and he will be remembered for his contributions," Quader added.
