UNESCO to celebrate “Mujib Barsho” jointly with Bangladesh: PM

The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) will jointly celebrate "Mujib Barsho" with Bangladesh next year, marking the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina announced this while chairing a preparatory meeting on the celebration of the birth centenary of the Father of the Nation held at Ganabhaban on November 27.

Speaking at the meeting, Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni said that UNESCO took the decision unanimously to celebrate "Mujib Barsho" jointly with Bangladesh at the plenary session of its 40th General Assembly held in the UNESCO Headquarters, Paris on November 25.
