Two more detained over Abrar murder

Police arrested two more people today over the Abrar Fahad murder case.

A team of the Detective Branch of the Police picked up Abrar's roommate Mizanur Rahman this afternoon for interrogation over Abrar's murder, said additional deputy commissioner Khandaker Rabiul Arafat Lenin.

Mizanuar Rahman is a 2nd-year student of the Department of Water Resources Engineering at the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology.

In another raid, DB police arrested a suspect named Hossain Mohammad Toha from the Mawna area of Gazipur today. Deputy Commissioner Masudur Rahman confirmed the matter to The Business Standard.

Buet student Abrar Fahad was allegedly beaten to death by a group of Chhatra League activists on Monday night.

Thirteen Chhatra League leaders of the Buet unit have so far been arrested on remand over the murder after Abrar's father Barkat Ullah filed a case against 19 people at Chawkbazar police station.

Abrar's murder sparked protests across the country. The protesters have placed 10 demands including capital punishment for the murderers.
