Two killed in Faridpur road crash

A Dhaka bound private car was hit by a bus of BRTC in Faridpur town

At least two people were killed and another injured as a bus collided head-on with a private car in Komorpur area of Faridpur sadar upazila on Friday.

The deceased were identified as Jakir Hossain, 45, and Sabirun Khatun, 55.

Md Shiplu, officer of Faridpur Fire Service and Civil Defence, said a Dhaka bound private car was hit by a bus of BRTC after it crashed a pedestrian in the area at 4 pm.

Police and firefighters rushed to the spot and recovered two bodies from the spot, he said.

Severely injured private car owner was sent to Faridpur Medical College and Hospital.

The accident caused long tailback on the Dhaka-Khulna highway triggering acute sufferings to the commuters while law enforcers resolved the matter.
