Two including child killed in Teknaf Rohingya camps

No arrest has been made till now as the accused went on the run since the occurrence.

Two incidents of murder took place in 48 hours apart in two Rohingya camps in Teknaf, Cox's Bazar, hosting more than one million Rohingya people persecuted by Myanmar military.

On 5 March, members of the Armed Police Battalion (APBN) recovered a mutilated body of a Rohingya girl named Shahina Nur, 7, from the nearby hilly area of Nayapara refugee camp in the upazila.

Shahina went missing three days before her body was found on Friday evening. She was the daughter of Md Zobayer, residing in the bloc-b of Mouchani camp.

In addition, another Rohingya man named Hasan Ahmed died on Thursday night after being attacked by his neighbours centering a feud involving children.

Hasan was a resident of Jadimora Rohingya Refugee Camp No 27.

A case has been filed agaisnt two in connection with the murder of Hasan, said APBN 16 in charge Superintendent of Police Tariqul Islam Tariq. 

However, no arrest has been made till now as the accused went on the run since the occurrence.

Police are working to unravel the mystery of the murder of the teenager, he added.
