Police also arrested a third person named Masud from Dhaka after obtaining information from the Ghanaians

Police have arrested two Ghanaian footballers from Chattogram city's Bakalia area for possessing 7,500 pieces of yaba tablets on Saturday.

After getting information from the Ghanaians, a man named Masud, 24, has also been arrested from Dhaka in this regard.

Shah Md Abdur Rauf, additional deputy commissioner (south) of Chattogram Metropolitan Police, said, "The two arrestees – Frank and Richard – are footballers. Last week, they went to Cox's Bazar to play and brought yaba tablets from there on advice of Masud," he added.

They were heading for Masud's place in Dhaka.

Officer-in-Charge of Bakalia Police Station Nezam Uddin said after arresting the two footballers, police brought them to Dhaka. When they asked Masud to come to the capital's Bashundhara area to deliver those yaba tablets, police arrested him too.

The three of them were brought back to Chattogram.

A case has been filed against them, OC Nezam Uddin added.
