Two get bail in FR Tower case

Judge KM Imrul Kayes granted the bail against a bond of Tk20,000 each.

Two officials of Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (Rajuk) get bails today from a Dhaka court in a case over illegal extension of FR Tower that caught fire in March, leaving 25 people dead.

Inspection Officer Mahbubul Islam Sarkar and Assistant Authorization Officer Nazrul Islam surrendered before the court and sought the bail today.

Judge KM Imrul Kayes granted the bail against a bond of Tk20,000 each.

The   Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) filed the case against 23 people in June for extending the tower from 16th to 18th and 19th to 23rd floor illegally.

With these two officials, 13 accused in the case are on bail now while the rest are still at large.
