The locomotive master of Turna Nishita disobeyed the signal which led to the Kasba train accident, said Railway Minister Nurul Islam Sujon citing primary investigation.
"The locomotive master and assistant master of the Turna Nishita train were suspended immediately," the minister told The Business Standard while visiting the accident spot.
"Bangladesh Railway ministry and Brahmanbaria district administration formed a probe committee for further investigation."
"Udayan Express had no apparent fault here," he added.
The government has allocated Tk1 lakh for each family of the deceased passengers and Tk10,000 for the injured.
He further said, "No money can compensate for the lives lost."
