A Bangladeshi teenage girl, who was forced into prostitution after being trafficked to India by a youth, has been rescued in India’s Hyderabad.
Indian police sent the girl to Prajwala home for care and arrested a couple in this connection on August 22, according to a report published in The Indian Express.
A youth named Sigdhar lured the 17-year-old girl in the name of love to Bengaluru, where she was forced into the trade.
She was compelled to perform as a dance girl there.
Laster, Sigdhar sold the girl to a woman named Vijaya from Vijaywada, who also forced her into prostituion.
During that time, Vijaya’s son and friends repeatedly raped her.
Finally, she was sold to a Bangladeshi couple.
Visti Hossan, a beautician, and her husband, Mohammed Sohail Hussain, a mason, had been living in Hyderabad illegally for the last four years.
They brought the girl to Hyderabad and used to take her to different lodges for sex work.
The duo used to lure customers by using websites like Lacanto.
A team of police and NGO Prajwala rescued the girl and arrested the couple while she was being taken for prostitution near ECIL.
However, Sigdhar and those from Karnataka and Vijayawada are still at large.
A case has been filed with Kushaiguda Police Station in Rachakonda in this connection.
