Tolerate sufferings of metro rail construction for next generation’s sake, urges Quader
He said the construction of MRT Line-6 would be finished in 2021, three years ahead of schedule, and will be inaugurated on Victory Day, December 16.
Road Transport and Bridges minister Obaidul Quader on Sunday asked all to tolerate the sufferings caused by the metro rail construction with patience, as it is a ‘dream project’ for the next generation.
Quader made the call while attending the license handover ceremony of Mass-Rapid Transport (MRT) Line-6 (Uttara to Agargaon) at Bangabandhu International Convention Centre in the city.
He said the construction of MRT Line-6 would be finished in 2021, three years ahead of schedule, and will be inaugurated on Victory Day, December 16.
“We had to tolerate the same kind of suffering while the construction of the flyovers was going on”, he said.
The minister also said that once the work on one line is done, the construction component would be moved to another one for the comfort of people.
There will be 16 stations and around 60,000 people will able to travel from each side in 37 minutes.
Asked about recent events surrounding Priya Saha, Quader said that the law minister did not accept the sedition cases filed against Priya as filing this type of case requires government’s permission.
Priyabala Saha on Thursday told the US President Donald Trump that 37 million Hindus, Buddhists and Christians had disappeared from Bangladesh.
