The government has inaugurated the Bangladesh Post Office Automation System.
Finance Minister A H M Mustafa Kamal and Posts and Telecommunications Minister Mustafa Jabbar inaugurated the system at the secretariat this morning.
Through this automation, post offices across the country will be digitalised, said the finance minister, adding that the operations of the digitalised services will begin from March 17.
Stating that the system has been introduced for low and medium-low income people, the minister stated that the interest rate for savings at post office will be as high as 11.28%.
Once the automation takes off, one person will not be able to invest in both bank and post office at the same time, the minister also said.
