Banglalink SDG Hackathon 'Code for a Cause' 2.0 calls for applications

Banglalink, one of the leading digital communications service has officially kicked off the registration process for the second edition of Banglalink SDG Hackathon "Code for a Cause."

"Code for a Cause," a 24-hour hackathon aimed at encouraging young problem solvers to come up with innovative solutions to socio-economic challenges related to Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).

Shortlisted teams will be invited to solve problems related to SDG at a 24-hour hackathon in an inspiring environment.

The candidates need to form a balanced team (coders, designers, etc) consisting of three members and apply for the participation. The teams will solve problems, design solutions and pitch their digital ideas on crucial socio-economic factors such as decent work, quality education, climate action and gender equality.

 "This hackathon has opened up a great opportunity for innovative digital enthusiasts to come up with new ideas and contribute to tackling SDG challenges," Chief Corporate and Regulatory Affairs Officer of Banglalink Taimur Rahman said.

The overwhelming responses from the candidates made the inaugural edition of this competition a great success, he added.

A project under "Make Your Mark," a flagship Corporate Responsibility program of Banglalink's parent company VEON, Banglalink SDG Hackathon "Code for a Cause" was launched in 2018.
