Banglalink – a digital communications service provider in the country – will provide students of United International University (UIU) with an opportunity to upskill themselves by learning from Banglalink professionals and participating in various programmes.
The two parties have recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to this end.
According to a press release issued by Banglalink, along with joining their various youth empowerment programmes such as "Learn from the Leaders", "Career Bootcamp", "Strategic Assistant Programme", "Advanced Internship Programme" and "Campus Ambassador Programme", UIU students will study Banglalink's cases as part of their curriculum under this agreement.
Regarding the MoU, Monzula Morshed, chief human resources & administration officer of Banglalink said, "We believe youngsters need more and more learning opportunities to prepare themselves for their professional life in today's highly competitive world.
"With a view to facilitating this process, Banglalink has been running a number of programmes. Through our partnership with the UIU, we want to offer its students an opportunity to participate in these programmes and get valuable career advice from our highly experienced professionals."
Moinuddin Hasan Rashid, chairman andmanaging director of United Enterprises & Co Ltd, said, "The collaboration between Banglalink and the UIU will hugely benefit students in terms of acquiring skills and knowledge required by the industry, as we know in many cases skill gap is the root cause of unemployment."
Professor Dr Chowdhury Mofizur Rahman, vice chancellor of the UIU said, "The MoU between the UIU and Banglalink is another good example of industry academia collaboration. It will bring in industry readiness among the students and enable lifelong learning from the Banglalink employees through different joint activities."
Several other officials of Banglalink – including Erik Aas, CEO; Ayesha Saeed, head of Talent Management; Ankit Sureka, head of Corporate Communications & Sustainability; Aurthima Naznoor, Talent Management lead specialist – were present during the virtual signing ceremony
Manjurul Haque Khan, director, Career Counseling Centre and Directorate of Student Affairs of the UIU, also participated in the event.
