Two of the five arrested are enlisted in the FIR

A schoolboy was stabbed to death and three of his friends got injured, as members of a teen-gang clash with another rival gang.

The deceased is Mohsin Ali, a 9th grader, the injured being Rubel, Rakib, and Sabbir.  The injured were sent to different hospitals after the fight in Mohammadpur on Wednesday.

The teens who had been under attack are members of ‘Film Jhir Jhir’ teen-gang, mostly active in Chand Uddan in Mohammadpur, said the local and police sources. ‘Atonko’, the teen-gang that attacked them, is mostly active in Katasur in Mohammadpur, said sources.

Following the attack, Mohsin's elder brother Yousuf Ali filed a murder case at Mohammadpur police station.

“According to the first information report (FIR), the accused, along with 15-16 anonymous persons, came with knives and machetes. To settle an old score, they stabbed my brother and his friends indiscriminately,” Yousuf said.

As Mohsin was rushed to the nearest Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital, the on-duty doctor declared him dead, his brother said.

“During primary interrogation, Asif and Rokib confessed their crime. We found a long-running feud between the two gangs,” Md Faruk Hossain, sub-inspector at Mohammadpur police station and the investigating officer of the case, said.

For investigation's sake, Faruk did not disclose the names of the other accused.

“The gangs fight over trivial issues, such as, snatching each other’s mobiles and girls.”

The locals also know about these teen-gangs, as their names are on the walls all over Mohammadpur.

Shockingly, their family members are clueless about their whereabouts and activities, Faruk pointed out.
