TCB instructed to stock essentials for Ramadan: Minister

Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi on Thursday said the government stock of daily essentials at Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) has been doubled as compared to other years ahead of Ramadan.
 
"TCB has been instructed by the Commerce Ministry to ensure that the prices of essential commodities, especially oil, onions, gram, dates, pulses and sugar, do not go up during the month of Ramadan," he said.
 
The minister was speaking as the chief guest at the inaugural function of the three-day "National Light Engineering Products and Technology Fair" arranged by Bangladesh Engineering Industry Owners Association Gazipur branch at Tongi Government College ground in Gazipur.
 
At the same time, the minister said that all kinds of measures are being taken for the development of the light engineering industry.
 
Bangladesh Engineering Industry Owners Association President Monir Hossain Nizami presided over the inaugural function where local councillor Nasir Uddin Mollah and Juba League leaders Billal Hossain Mollah and Wadud Khan Ripon also spoke.
