Swiss ambassador to Bangladesh pays courtesy visit to DNCC mayor

Swiss Ambassador to Bangladesh, Nathalie Chuard, paid a courtesy visit to Md Atiqul Islam, Mayor of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), at Nagar Bhaban in Gulshan located in the capital on 22 December, says a press release.

The Mayor and the Ambassador discussed the infrastructure of the capital, economic development and expansion of trade and commerce, waste management, public transportation and various other issues during the meeting.

Mayor Atiqul Islam said, "Cities in Bangladesh and Switzerland may follow the 'best practices' of each other and provide better civic services to city dwellers by exchanging experiences."

Ambassador Nathalie Chuard expressed her desire to support and assist DNCC in its work, according to the press release.

The ambassador provided over 7,500 masks to Mayor Atiqul Islam for DNCC. Mayor Atiqul Islam presented a graphic novel series 'Hasu Theke Hasina – (From Hasu to Hasina)' to the Swiss ambassador.

DNCC Chief Executive Officer Md Selim Reza, Chief Waste Management Officer Commodore Saidur Rahman, Chief Property Officer Md Mozammel Haque and many others were present during the meeting, the press release stated.
