Sonagazi ex-OC Moazzem arrested

Former Officer In-charge of Sonagazi Police station Moazzem Hossain has been arrested from Dhaka's Shahbagh area at around 3 pm, Sunday.
Additional IGP (Media) Sohel Rana confirmed the matter to the Business Standard.
Ramna Zone DC Maruf Hossain Sardar said, "Moazzem will be handed over to the Sonagazi police.”
Police said Moazzem went to the High Court to meet his lawyer at the chamber. Acting on a tip-off, a team of police's detective branch raided the area to arrest Moazzem. But he fled the chamber sensing police presence.
Later Moazzem was arrested from the Shahbagh area.
Earlier on May 27, the court ordered to arrest Moazzem Hossain on charges of recording the statement of Feni's sex assault victim Nusrat Jahan Rafi and releasing the video on social media. After 19 days of the court order, he has been arrested.
