Shakib's annual income Tk5.5cr, bank loan Tk32cr

He has Tk46.63cr capital market investment

Shakib Al Hasan, cricket superstar and Awami League candidate for Magura-1 constituency, has an average annual income of Tk5.55 crore and bank loan of Tk31.98 crore according to his affidavit submitted to the Election Commission.

He also has a loan of Tk1.5 crore in Eastern Bank, stated the affidavit submitted with nomination papers to the district returning officer to contest the 12th Jatiya Sangsad election.

The cricketer earns Tk5.32 crore annually from playing cricket and gets Tk22.96 lakh from fixed deposits. 

Shakib has also shown bank deposits of Tk11.57 crore in liquid assets as well as $24,261 in foreign currency and 25 bhori gold.

On 26 November, Shakib, the captain of the national cricket team, secured the AL nomination for Magura-1 seat.

He also has an investment of Tk46.63 crore in the capital market. His investments are in bonds, debentures, listed and unlisted companies in the stock exchange.

Shakib was a goodwill ambassador for the investment education programme of Bangladesh Securities Exchange Commission (BSEC). He started his journey with the BSEC from 2017 to encourage capital market investors.
