Shahabuddin Ahmed new Bangladesh Ambassador to Japan

Shahabuddin Ahmed obtained his Bachelor and Masters degree in Soil Science from the University of Dhaka

The government has appointed Shahabuddin Ahmed, former Food Secretary now on post-retirement leave, as Bangladesh Ambassador to Japan for three years on contractual basis.

The External Publicity Wing of The Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed about the appointment in a press release on Monday.

Ambassador - designate Shahabuddin is a former Secretary to the Government of Bangladesh and was also a member of Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) Administration Cadre.

The post of Ambassador in Bangladesh Mission, Tokyo fell vacant as former Ambassador Rabab Fatima moved to New York as Bangladesh's Permanent Representative to the United Nations.  

Shahabuddin Ahmed obtained his Bachelor and Masters degree in Soil Science from the University of Dhaka. He also completed his MS degree in Development Finance from the University of Birmingham.

He is married and blessed with 3 children.
