Scolded by father, teenager shoots himself in Chattogram

A teenager on Friday committed suicide by shooting himself at their home in Chattogram.

Musfiqul Haque Mahhin, 18, son of Mohin Uddin, hailed from the Akbar Shah police station area of the port city. Mohin Uddin is a sub-inspector at Akbar Shah police station.

Zahirul Islam, office-in-charge of the police station, said SI Mohin scolded Mahhin on Friday noon for not going to the mosque for jummah prayers. 

"Mahhin got angry and entered a room with his father's gun in hand. He then locked the room from inside. His family members rushed to the room hearing the sound of gunfire at around 1.20 pm and found him dead," he said.
