After returning home, her mother found the door open and Latifa was missing.

A schoolteacher was stabbed to death allegedly after being raped by miscreants in Natore’s Gurudaspur area on Tuesday.
Police recovered the body of Latifa Helen Monju, 35, daughter of late Nazim Uddin and teacher of Brikasho Govt Primary High School, from the pond next to her house on Tuesday night.
The body was sent to Natore Health Complex for autopsy.
Latifa was a divorcee and lived with her mother.
On the day of the incident, her mother went to her paternal house. When she returned home she found the door open and could not find her daughter.
After searching and calling her on phone, locals found her daughter’s body floating in the pond.
“We reached the place around midnight and saw the locals already recovered the body,” said Md Mojaharul Islam, officer-in-charge of Gurudaspur police station.
“A case has been filed in connection with the incident,” he added.
The police also said the heavy rainfall would make it difficult to trace the evidence of rape.
