Schoolboy dies falling into septic tank in Khagrachhari

A schoolboy died after he fell into a septic tank in Manikchhari upazila of Khagrachhari on Friday.

The deceased was identified as Imran Hossain, 11, son of Shah Alam in Kumari Borotila area -- also a student of class-V at Abdul Jabbar Government Primary School.

Imran fell into the septic tank around 12:30pm when the slab of an abandoned toilet near his house caved in, said Amir Hossain, officer-in-charge of Manikchhari Police Station.

Being aware of the incident, Al-Amin, maternal uncle of Imran, came to his rescue, but he also became unconscious.

Later, locals sent them to a nearby hospital where doctors declared Imran dead.
