Satkhira Jubo League president arrested with 14 illegal motorcycles

The arrestee has an arrest warrant to his name against two criminal cases and one general case

The police today arrested Kazi Asaduzzaman Shahzada, vice chairman of Kalaroa Upazila Parishad of Satkhira and president of Upazila Jubo League with 14 paperless and unregistered motorcycles of different brands.

Shahzada was arrested from his house in Tulsidanga village of Satkhira municipality during the early hours of midnight.

"Some non-judicial stamps and chequebooks from various banks were recovered from Shahzada's house along with the motorcycles during the raid," Rajiv Hossain, officer-in-charge (OC) (investigation) of Kalaroa Police Station, said.

The OC also informed that there is an arrest warrant to the arrestee's name against two criminal cases and one general case.

Sheikh Munir ul Ghias, officer-in-charge of Kolaroa Police Station, said, "Shahzada had multiple allegations of land grabbing, extortion and unlawful possession of large quantities of wealth against him, in addition to multiple arrest warrants."

He added that legal action will be taken against the illegal possessions recovered from his home.
