The central branch of the Anti-Corruption Commission in Dhaka has ordered a further investigation against the people involved in providing Rohingyas with National Identification Cards (NIDs).

Earlier on Thursday, the Chattogram branch of the anti-graft commission submitted a report seeking further direction over the case, confirmed a source at the commission.

"However, we did not receive any written direction on this matter," said Md Sharif Uddin, deputy assistant director at the Commission's district office in Chattogram.

"We will investigate the officials and staff involved in NID and passport fraud, along with the owners of various travel agencies," added Md Sharif.

Earlier, four Election Commission officials were also arrested for NID fraud.
