'Robber' killed in Satkhira ‘gunfight’
Jakir was accused in 13 cases, including four murder and several robbery
An alleged robber was killed in a 'gunfight' with law enforcers in Satkhira early Friday.
The deceased was identified as Jakir Hossain of Matiadanga village in Sadar upazila.
Acting on a tip-off, a joint team of the district's Detective Branch of Police and Brahmmarajpur Camp conducted a drive in Damarpota area in the upazila to detain some miscreants and robbers, said Officer-in-charge of Satkhira Sadar Police Station Mostafijur Rahman. Sensing the presence of the police, the miscreants opened fire on them, ensuing 'the gunfight'. Jakir got bullet injury during the fight. He died on his way to Sadar hospital.
