Bangladesh suspends inland water vessel services for corona

Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) has suspended operations of all types of water vessels across the country amid the fears of the novel coronavirus spread.

Confirming the matter to The Business Standard, BIWTA Chairman Golam Sadeque said, "All 11 river ports will remain closed from 1pm today to until further notice."

Earlier in the day, the government announced that all local, mail and commuter trains will remain suspended from today as a part of government initiatives to curb the spread of novel coronavirus.
Bangladesh confirmed four deaths from the novel coronavirus and 39 cases till date.
