Road crashes kill 3 in Chattogram

In another accident, a rashly-driven car ran over an elderly person in the Mirsarai bypass area on Dhaka-Chattogram highway, leaving him dead on the spot.

Three people were killed and three more injured in two separate road accidents in Chattogram today.

A CNG-driven auto-rickshaw collided with a pickup van in Ghata area of Anowara this morning, leaving two dead and three injured.

The deceased are Israfil, 35, son of Hafiz Ibrahim, hailing from Sonagazi upazila of Feni and Subhash Nath, 55, son of Arvind Nath, hailing from Patiya upazila of Chattogram.

Anowara Police Station Sub-Inspector Emran Hossain said, "One person died on the spot and the other victim died while being taken to the hospital."

"The injured are being treated at Chittagong Medical College Hospital," he added.

In another accident, a rashly-driven car ran over an elderly person in the Mirsarai bypass area on Dhaka-Chattogram highway, leaving him dead on the spot.

The deceased is Abul Hossain, 58. He was a teacher at Mirsharai Majeda Haque High School.

Highway police Sub-Inspector Sohail Sarker confirmed the matter.
