Road crash kills 2 in Dhaka

Two persons were killed in a head-on collision between a truck and a van in the capital's Adabar today.

The accident took place on the road near the Roads and Highways office in the vicinity around 4am, leaving two dead on spot.

The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.

Later, one of the deceased was identified as a woman aged 25 and the other deceased is a man aged 55.

"The van was plying on the wrong side of the road with two people and it collided with an oncoming truck, leaving them dead," Habibur Rahman, sub-inspector of Adabar Police Station, said.

The bodies have been taken to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College and Hospital morgue for autopsy.
