Road accident kills three in Mymensingh

Three persons died and two others were injured in a collision between a CNG-run auto-rickshaw and a truck on the Mymensingh-Haluaghat road this morning.

One of the deceased was identified as Babul Mia, hailing from Fulpur, said Mizanur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Tarakanda Police Station, adding that identities of the other two could not be known immediately.

The injured have been sent to a local hospital.

Mizanur said, the accident took place when a Haluaghat bound truck collided with a Mymensingh bound three-wheeler in Goatala Shoashar Bazar area under Tarakanda upazila, killing the auto-rickshaw driver and two passengers on the spot.    

"The accident took place due to dense fog," he added.
