Road accident kills 3 of a family among 4 in Kurigram

Officer-in-Charge of Sadar Police Station Anwarul Islam said, “One died on spot and three died on the way to the hospital. The bus driver fled scene after the accident.”

Four people including three members of a family were killed after a BRTC bus hit a private car on Rangpur-Kurigram highway in Sadar upazila of Kurigram on Thursday.

The deceased were identified as Akbar Hossain, 58, senior technical officer of Narsingdi Sishu Paribar, his wife Bilkis Begum, 45,  and their son Belal, 26 hailing from Ulipur upazila of the district and driver Sohel Miah.

Akbar Hossain's daughter Ayesha Siddique, 14, and driver's assistant Wasim Ali were seriously injured in the incident.

Officer-in-Charge of Sadar Police Station Anwarul Islam said, "One died on spot and three died on the way to the hospital. The bus driver fled scene after the accident."

Residential Medical Officer of Kurigram General Hospital Redwan Ferdous Sajib said, "Ayesha Siddique has been sent to Rangpur Medical College Hospital with serious injuries."
