Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) seized 1356 sacks of rice, with seals of the food department on the sacks, from a warehouse in Rajshahi on Thursday. 

A team of members of the Anti-Corruption Commission, Rajshahi, led by its Assistant Director Al-Amin, conducted a raid at M/S Chowdhury Food Industrial Complex on Thursday, seizing 1356 sacks of rice, weighing 53.84 thousand kilograms, each of the sacks bearing seals of the government's food department. 

Al-Amin said: based on secret information that rice of food department is in the warehouse of M/S Chowdhury Food Industrial Complex, the ACC in Rajshahi conducted the drive, while seizing the rice that have been meant for distribution among the poor and destitute. 

"Necessary steps will be taken after investigation. We are trying to find out how the rice sacks bearing seals of the food department ended up in the warehouse of M/S Chowdhury Food Industrial Complex," he said.
