The High Court today directed to remove all the intimate and personal photos of Rafiath Rashid Mithila and Iftekhar Ahmed Fahmi from social media including Facebook and online news portals.

After hearing on a writ, a High Court bench of Justice M Enayetur Rahim and Justice Md Mostafizur Rahman also asked for taking steps to remove personal photos of Stamford University student Rubaiya Sharmin Rumpa, who was found dead in Dhaka's Siddheshwari on Wednesday night.

Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission was asked to implement the order.

Barrister Tahsina Tasnim filed the writ on Thursday on public interest litigation challenging the legality of not removing the photos.

Information secretary, home ministry secretary and Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Communication were made respondents to the writ.
