Record 2,065 dengue patients hospitalized in 24hrs

Although Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Malik on Monday at a programme in Manikganj claimed the number of dengue cases is coming down gradually, the reality is totally opposite.
The number of dengue patient across the country is increasing every day exceeding the previous number, as it has reached 2,065 in last 24 hours on Monday.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said, around 1,870 patients were hospitalised last Sunday.
Since January 2019, a total of 27,437 dengue patients were admitted to different public and private hospitals across the country until Monday.
Among them, 19,761 were released from hospitals after getting treatment, said the DGHS.
According to the health directorate’s information, among the dengue patients who got infected since January 1, 18 have died till Monday.
Unofficial sources and media reports, however, said the death toll had already passed 70, including at least 14 since August 3.
The control room of the health directorate said so far 7,658 people, including 4,962 in Dhaka’s different public and private hospitals, have undergone treatment throughout the country.
