Rape victim DU student discharged from DMCH

The victim, a second-year student of Dhaka University, was picked up by the rapist after she got down from bus in Kurmitola area in the capital on January 5 afternoon and then was taken to a secret place, where she was raped and tortured

The Dhaka University student, who was raped and tortured in capital's Kurmitola, was discharged from Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) today. 

Her health condition is now better than before, said DMCH Director Brigadier General AKM Nasir Uddin, reported Somoy Tv. 

She was asked to come for follow-up after a week, he added. 

The victim, a second-year student of Dhaka University, was picked up by the rapist after she got down from bus in Kurmitola area in the capital on January 5 afternoon and then was taken to a secret place, where she was raped and tortured.

The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on Wednesday (January 8) arrested the alleged rapist Mojnu based on the description given by the victim and by tracking her mobile phone which was snatched by the rapist.

The investigators will produce the alleged Mojnu before the court in the afternoon and will seek the court's permission to interrogate the suspect for 10 days in custody.
