Rangpur route to get 2 new trains

The passenger services at Rangpur Station will be improved.

Railways Minister Nurul Islam Sujan has said two more trains will be running on Rangpur-Dhaka route from early September.

“Currently one train is operating on the route which fails to meet the growing need of passengers,” said the minister while vising Rangpur Railway Station on Friday.   

One of the new trains will run directly from Rangpur to Dhaka via Parbatipur upazila of Dinajpur and another from Kurigram to Dhaka via Rangpur city.   

“The passenger services at Rangpur Station will be improved, also the city will be decorated like other cities of the country”, the minister added.     

Acting President of Rangpur District Awami League (AL) Mamtaz Uddin Ahmed, AL General Secretary Advocate Rezaul Karim Raju, AL President of Rangpur city Shafiur Rahman Shafi, its General Secretary Tushar Kanti Mondal, Rangpur Rail Station Superintendent Mozammel Haque, were present, among others.
