Three bogies had been recovered and it would take time to recover the others.

Train communication with the northern city of Rajshahi is still disrupted on Thursday morning after an oil train had derailed in Rajshahi’s Charghat upazila on Wednesday.

The divisional railway manager of Rajshahi said bad weather was responsible for the delay in restoring rail communication.

He said that three bogies had been recovered and it would take time to recover the others.

Eight bogies of the train went off the track when it was returning to Rajshahi from Ishwardi, said Rajshahi Railway Station Manager Abdul Karim.

“The accident caused rail connections with Rajshahi to come to a halt. All trains for the night and morning shifts were cancelled following the accident,” he added.

A three-member committee was formed to investigate the incident. Also, Abdur Rashid, assistant executive engineer of the Western Railway, was temporarily suspended.
