RAB detains a Jubo League leader for running casino illegally

A team of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in a drive detained 142 persons from a casino in the capital's Fakirapool area on Wednesday.
Acting on a tip-off, a RAB team raided "Young Menz Club" at the Motijheel's Fakirapool area and nabbed 142 persons, including two women, from the casino, said Sarwoer Alam, executive magistrate of the RAB.
They also recovered liquors and around Tk24 lakh in cash and a big number of gambling instruments from the casino, the RAB official added.
Meanwhile, a team of RAB-1 has detained Khalid Mahmud Bhuiyan, organising secretary of Dhaka City South chapter of Jubo League, from his Gulshan residence for running the casino illegally.
Sarwar Bin Kashem, director of RAB (legal and media wing), confirmed it to The Business Standard.
The RAB also seized a firearm and yaba tablets from his possession.
The detainee was later taken to the RAB Headquarters for interrogation.
