Protesting teachers and students of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (Buet) today demanded quick charge sheet in sensational Abrar Fahad murder case.

The demand came from a crowd of hundreds of protesters at the Shaheed Minar on Buet campus as the demonstration entered day 3.

The protesters again raised 10-point demands to be met within the given time, otherwise threatened to go for tougher movement.

Their demands also include fast settlement of the case under Speedy Trial Tribunal and Buet must bear the cost of case proceedings and compensate Abrar's family.

The protesters also put blockade on a road from Palashi to Bakshibazar and vowed to keep it blocked until their demands are met.

Abrar, 22, a second-year-student of Buet's electrical and electronics engineering department was allegedly beaten to death allegedly by a group of Chhatra League men in his dormitory Sher-E-Bangla Hall on Monday over his suspected affiliation with Chhatra Shibir.

A total of 10 Chhatra League leaders of Buet unit was detained as Abrar's father Barkat Ullah filed a case against 19 with Chawkbazar police station.

Later on Tuesday, a Dhaka court placed 10 Chhatra League leaders on a 5-day remand in connection with the murder.
