EMK Center recently hosted a workshop to help youth to learn computer programming with python language.

The workshop titled Python Programming Fundamentals is the first of the four workshops under EMK Center's Expedition to Data Science and Machine Learning with Python campaign.

The workshop which was hosted on 29 May was attended by 70 learners who joined through Zoom, reads a press release.

The workshop was designed based on the key principles of human centred: Understand the problem, spend time to know the logic and strategise accordingly to solve the problem.

Shahidullah Kawsar, who is currently working as a Data Scientist at IDARE in Texas of Unites States, was the facilitator of the workshop.

During the workshop, participants were encouraged to learn computer programming while solving interview standard LeetCode problems.

They created GitHub accounts in the process and learnt to use statistics and numbers with NumPy and Pandas. The workshop was designed in a way where participants will solve at least 5 LeetCode Easy problems in multiple ways.

"Python has emerged as one of the most exciting and lucrative 21st century programming languages and it is one of the best programming languages for machine learning," said Kawser.
