Protesters have to give evidence against the Vice-Chancellor of Jahangirnagar University otherwise the government will take stern action against them, said the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at her official residence Gono Bhaban in Dhaka on Thursday.

The Prime Minister made this remark while donating to the fund of Bangladesh Journalist Welfare Trust, constituted by the present government to provide journalists with financial support during their needs.

"Newspaper is everywhere in Bangladesh now. The people of the country now read news. Even the villagers regularly go to tea stall and read newspaper or watch news on television. They are financially stable now," she said.

"There is also a remarkable rise of women rights. In present time, if any woman falls victim of sexual harassment, she can at least express it," the premier further said.

She urged the journalists to publish identities and pictures of the criminals who are involved in sexual harassment.
