Project official held with Tk1.84cr in Dinajpur sent to jail

Tajul Islam, a project implementation officer of Dinajpur's Parbatipur upazila, has been sent to jail on Friday.
The Anti-Corruption Commission held him with Tk1.84 crore over graft charges on Thursday.
Senior Judicial Magistrate Ismail Hossain ordered to send him to jail after he was produced before the court, Dinajpur Court's Inspector Israel Hossain told The Business Standard.
The court also set January 12 as the hearing date of the case filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission.
On Thursday, the anti-corruption watchdog's Deputy Director Abu Hena Md Ashikur Rahman said its enforcement unit conducted a raid at the project official's office in Parbatipur upazila.
Later, the Anti-Corruption Commission officials raided Tajul's residence and seized over Tk1.84 crore and arrested him in this connection, he said.
