The Consulate General of Bangladesh in Saudi Arabia has started working on sending domestic worker Husna Begum back home after the video where she pleaded to save her life went viral on social media.
Husna, 24, of Anandapur village in Habiganj, is now under police surveillance at a safe home in Saudi Arabia's Najran city, said a press release issued by the Consulate General on November 25.
She went to the Middle Eastern country three months back to work as a house help through a Saudi recruiting office Ruyadh Najran.
A Consulate representative has talked to Husna and she claimed that she is safe at present.
The Consulate office informed the Najran police of the matter and also doing a regular follow-up, said the press release.
On November 22, a video went viral on social media where Husna was seen pleading with the viewers to help her return from Saudi Arabia as she could no longer take the "torture" of her employer.
"Take me back, I cannot take it [torture] anymore," she said.
Husna said her employers had started torturing her even more after she asked them to let her go back. The video was sent to her husband.
