Probe launched into constable recruitment from 2014 to 2024 over irregularities

Bangladesh Police has ordered a probe into the recruitment of constables between 2014 and 2024 following allegations of corruption and irregularities.
In an office order issued yesterday (15 March), Inspector General of Police Md Ali Hossain Fakir directed district-level committees to investigate possible violations in the recruitment process and submit reports to Police Headquarters by 15 April.
The committees, led by superintendents of police (SPs), will examine allegations including the use of false addresses by candidates, irregularities in written and oral exam scores, question paper leaks, and the influence of political affiliations on recruitment.
Each committee will include an additional SP (administration), a district intelligence officer and a reserve office inspector.
